Earth in, earthen

And just like that, hello again. In praise of spontaneity and bridging vast gaps, here’s a little something—unpolished, definitely not “done,” perhaps a bit raw. Which is good for springtime.

Earth in / earthen (2010)

from this moment forward
earthquake=orgasm
& rather than heave the ground
the lolling of land
flows up up up
into those who walk
& sit & roll &
love & sail
& rock & breathe & move
upon her

the earth
in her adjustments
in her shivers
of ascension
draws
our attention
to certain places:

islands, deltas, gulfs,
jungles
seas

we can feel it
in our bodies
we feel it
as an ecstasy
we absorb
her throbbing harmonics
& radiate outwards
& feel
in ourselves
(empathy

with the planet
no longer vague idea
or hidden behind
blaring layers
of psychologiculturelational
explanations)

it is now
a true
full
filling
of her
in us
this place
that we all
have
& feels
different, depending
on where
we stand
or swim
or fly, or grow,
or dance,
or land

this earth
is (her) our
healing
it is our (her)
power
moved
through
conscious
prisms
(all
the crystals
are in us
& water,
fire, air,
aether,
heart)

we birth
into art, into
music,
into kitchens into love into
healing
in ecstasy
& on
into dance
& release
unlike
anything
seen
in our lifetimes
& longer

deeper, longing
now
rooted
in cells
& in hearts

this
is (part of)
why
we must
(because what else could we do)

feel the planet now

her body, her
thrumming
her soil
& every
stone
& vein
of fire,
of oil
& water, coursing,
you feel
her
earth
in body

this
is the sacred
marriage with the land

from chaos
blossoms
eros
& the child

of light

is conceived

& born—
